You might recall that shockjock Howard Stern was paid a lofty sum of money (in the hundreds of millions) to join Sirius satellite radio about five years ago. The contract stipulated that Stern’s broadcasts could not be streamed over the web, much to the dismay of tech-savvy Sirius XM users that want to listen to Howard Stern from their Android or iOS app. Today is a bright day for those listeners, as the new contract between satellite radio and Stern allows for web streaming of his broadcasts. This development should also halt the rumor that Stern was going to sign with Apple to deliver his show through iTunes.
Are there any Stern listeners among you? Are you excited by the news?
