The NFC World Congress starts today and it would be a great time for Google to launch Wallet. We’ve seen the recent Seinfeld-themed teaser video that made us all think of an imminent launch and then there’s the image above.
As you can see, the documentation that’s being sent out to partners talks about a September 19 launch, which is today. Google announced Wallet back at the end of May and indicated that the service will launch this summer. With a September 19 date being rumored, Mountain View can keep its promise but unfortunately there’s only one officially supported phone out there and that’s the Sprint Nexus S 4G. Also, the service will be initially limited but expect more and more partners to join the NFC party.
