Google’s Android platform as an open source operating system is nearing its release, with T-Mobile and HTC confirming that the first Android devices will be on time to ship. The above video from Engadget Mobile shows a bigger glimpse of the new interface, which adds Widgets, similar to the Samsung Omnia and also a flickable screen that is reminiscent of the iPhone. Take a look at the video and tell us if you think if this is a Windows Mobile contender. Of course, for the platform to really take off, more applications need to be written for it and that’s where Windows Mobile shines with its stable developer base.
