Both Android and Windows Phone fans can feel a little bit sad today as a Dell spokesman recently told PCWorld about the company’s plans to retire the Dell Venue and the Venue Pro from the American market.
“Mobility products have shorter lifecycles than laptops and desktops”, the spokesperson said, but we knew that and Dell definitely knew that some two years ago when they entered the smartphone game. However, the company will continue to sell its phones outside of the U.S. and will introduce more mobile products in the States later this year, but it is uncertain whether there will be smartphones among them or not.
Dell is probably considering the idea for quite some time; we say this because we asked ourselves a very important question with the occasion of the Windows Phone “Mango” launch event. Dell wasn’t listed as a hardware partner.
