AT&T launched AT&T Buzz, a social networking portal that will work with select smartphones–the carrier didn’t disclose which smartphones were compatible or not compatible with the service–so users can quickly connect to their social networks and get the buzz. If you’re new to a city or just want to know what’s going on in your hometown, you can get the buzz through the company’s Buzz.com portal where you can get suggestions on what’s happening around you from friends. According to the carrier, “We recognize that people are already having conversations online about the best places to go and businesses to call. Buzz.com makes it even easier to discover the businesses your friends recommend. Although the site is still in beta, we’re very excited to open it up to anyone who wants to see how we’re approaching social search’ for the local marketplace,” declared Buzz.com General Manager Charles Hornberger.”
To get started, you can visit Buzz.com or point your smartphone browsers to m.buzz.com.
