At this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, Peter Vesterbacka, Rovio’s “Mighty Eagle,” announced the next update to Angry Birds Seasons. The upcoming addition to the popular title will be in honor of St. Patrick’s day, so expect an overly green theme throughout each level. The expansion pack is due to arrive “well before” the March 17 holiday. If the recent Valentine’s Day update is anything to go by, you can probably look for it about a week prior to St. Patty’s Day.
Vesterbacka also revealed some information regarding Rio, Rovio’s new Angry Birds game based on the animated feature film of the same name. “We could make it work nicely with Angry Birds and the back-story. It could be the first time the birds leave the island, and are kidnapped by smugglers. This is not one of these lame movie games, but a separate game that works nicely with the movie.” Angry Birds Rio is slated for a March 22 release date.
