Angry Birds needs no introduction at all and after the recent launch of the Easter special version of the game, Rovio is preparing to bring some NFC goodness to Nokia smartphone players at this year’s WIMA — NFC Applications Products and Services Congress.
The game starts out as usual with five levels but the NFC fun begins after completing these. You will be able to unlock further levels and continue playing the game only if you find an NFC-enabled phone and bump the devices together. One new NFC friend found unlocks five new levels and you need a total of three friends to unlock all fifteen levels. Unlocking new levels can also be achieved via NFC tags.
Mikael Hed from Rovio said that “with Angry Birds Magic, friends can group together to combat the pig menace, in a new take on the game that so many people all over the world have fallen love with”. The Magic version of the game will come preinstalled Nokia C7 — aka T-Mobile Astound — as part of the Symbian Anna update and it will be available on all Nokia NFC-enabled phones this year.
