Nokia, which has so far held true to its Symbian roots with smartphones running on its S60 (and other variant) operating system, may be eyeing its focus elsewhere. Nokia has spun off Symbian into an open-source operating system some time ago, likely to compete against Google’s Android and gain more market traction in the US, may be looking for the next compelling OS to ward off competition from BlackBerry and the iPhone. We don’t know what’s brewing, but it seems that Nokia and Microsoft are to hold a joint press conference tomorrow to announce an alliance.
Could Nokia be building a Windows 7 netbook? A Nokia Windows Phone? All of the above? Tune in tomorrow to find out as we’ll be updating you with news from the press conference!
