If rumors from a solid tipster to Gizmodo are true, this will be an exciting upgrade and launch for Windows Mobile fans everywhere. Microsoft seems poised to announce Windows Mobile 7–and not 6.6–at Mobile World Congress in February to an international audience. The special news? Natal-like graphics and gestures allowing users to interact with their Windows phones without even having to touch the phone! With all the new features, Microsoft’s OEM should also be poised to step up the hardware to be Windows Mobile 7 compliant. Currently, the HTC HD2 is “rumored” to be receiving an upgrade to 7 in the future.
Can Natal-like gestures for touch-less phone control help Microsoft win 25% of the smartphone market by 2014? All eyes will be on Redmond next month.
