Windows CE 7 to Power Toshiba Dual-Screen Tablet
File under: News
A report from
The DigiTimes states that Compal will be manufacturing the Toshiba tablets--one of which will run Windows CE 7 and have dual-screens while the other will be running Android with a 10-inch display. The tablets are said to be powered by a Tegra 2 chipset from NVIDIA. With speculation that Microsoft's Courier tablet reference design be based on
the company's mobile OS solution rather than a full Windows desktop platform, could Toshiba be the first OEM to score a Courier solution with its Windows CE 7 dual-screen tablet? In the past, Toshiba has had a strong tie with Microsoft; the company was the OEM to produce the first Zune hardware.
