It’s unclear whether the Windows phones leaked by Samsung Russia are built for Windows Mobile or Windows Phone 7, but the leaked devices show Samsung’s commitment to Microsoft’s mobile OS as well as Samsung’s work with its in-house Bada OS and Google’s Android. The first handset is similar to the Omnia II with a front-facing camera and the second handset looks like it is an update to the Samsung Epix with a keyboard that resembles the Samsung Jack. If the latter device is an Epix successor for Windows Phone 7, it will have to eschew its predecessor’s 320 X 320 square display per Microsoft’s hardware requirements for the platform; Samsung will have more flexibility under Windows Mobile 6.5.x.
