In the QWERTY messaging category, Nokia’s E series devices are strong BlackBerry competitors, with the E63 and E71 last year and the E72 and E73 this year–the E71x was available for a very low subsidized price on AT&T in the USA. It is rumored that T-Mobile USA may be working with Nokia to bring the mid-range E73–and upgrade from the E63–Stateside. Unlike the E72, which uses a metal construction for its body, the E73 will be a plastic smartphone running the Symbian operating system. Though the keyboard on the E71, E63, and E72–and also the E73 by the looks of the photo–seem cramped, it’s raised dome shape is a joy to type on and is one of my favorite keyboards on a smartphone.
At this time, the specs for the device remains unknown. The rumored release date for T-Mobile is June.
