The LG eXpo with its pico projector accessory sled has been scarce at AT&T’s retail stores and if you haven’t picked up one, you’ll be in for a long wait. AT&T retail locations in my area have not carried the device now for several months and according to AT&T, the eXpo’s been out of stock due to strong demand: “We are working with all our partners to address this issue and expect to have product available soon.”
However, that story may not be entirely accurate. According to Art Stewart, an executive at Authentec–which provides the biometrics security on the device–has said that the issue seems to be due to antenna problems rather than a supply shortage in a Forbes interview.
Whatever the issue is, we’re hoping that LG resolves whatever issue the device has. With Windows Phone 7 Series announced and the LG Panther on the horizon, consumers may start to wait for Windows Phone 7 rather than settle for a Windows Mobile 6.5 device when the eXpo comes back into production.
