HTC Revives Omni Design in New Leo Leak–WinMo Gaming to Come!

For those that love the twisty-turny screen on the HTC Omni, which HTC seemed to have replaced in recent memory with the Universal design which is more curved rather than boxy compared to the Omni, the good news is that the Omni may be back with the codename of Leo.

According to leaks, the device will have a 16:9 aspect ratio WVGA screen with a lot of horsepower. The Leo will support Open GL 2.0 on its Snapdragon chip. Open GL will allow for better graphics and is the standard that iPhones use on their games.

With Open GL support, could the Leo pave the way for a Windows Mobile gaming device? Though the HTC-made device may not get the Xbox Mobile brand extension as an official sanctioned platform from Microsoft, it could very well pave the way for more gaming titles for the Windows Mobile platform. We already have iPhone games, a Sony PSP, and this will put Microsoft’s mobile smartphone platform competitive with other other gaming platforms, especially in the performance that Snapdragon and Open GL could deliver.

Anyone waiting out the Touch Pro2 in favor of this bad boy?
