About two weeks ago, we wrote a piece speculating that HTC was getting ready to release a capacitive Windows Mobile device and that Windows Mobile 6.5 would indeed support this screen technology. There were five reasons that we thought this to be the case, and if you’re interested, go back and check them out.
It looks like we have a sixth reason to add to the list, with a tech blog ai.rs confirming our suspicion. The HTC Leo, of Firestone, is reported to be sporting a huge 4.3″ WVGA capacitive display. It’s kicking Windows Mobile 6.5 running on the Snapdragon 1GHz platform and 320MB of RAM. The only questionable bit of information here is the size of the screen. The Toshiba TG01 has a 4.1″ screen, which may consider to be too big for the pocket. With a screen size of 4.3″, the Leo/Firestone renderings that we’ve been looking at (below) seem inaccurate. With dimensions of 121x67x11mm, the Leo/Superstar is likely to be a very tall and thin slab, similar to the aforementioned Toshiba unit.
