Not only does PI Correct Time adjust your appointments
WHAT’S HOT
for various time zones, it includes some neat utilities to sweeten the
pot. It has a global replace and delete tool that works on Contacts,
Appointments and Tasks. It also performs a backup on the PIM data, just
in case. Some Ipaq users will remember that feature. It was removed
from my 3955 with a ROM update.
Setup was effortless, requiring no special input,
SETUP
beyond tapping launch and re-initializing appointment times.
PI Correct Time really doesn’t have any
PROGRAM FEATURES
features per say, the devil is in the details so to speak. Webis has
to be commended for taking on a task of this complexity! I can only
imagine the effort required to manipulate the appointment times in Pocket
Outlook.

Tap launch and that it! |
This cleans everything up for a fresh
start. |
PI
Correct Time does a wonderful job at hiding its complexity. Correct
Time doesn’t give you too many options to get into trouble. That is
a good thing too, anytime a program is playing with the PIM database,
the less options the better! PI Correct Time makes multiple copies of
the PIM database, just in case. If you look at the screenshot below,
you can see it’s always possible to get back to square one.

First
select the time zone. |
Don’t
worry about your data PI Correct Time has it covered. |
Once PI Correct Time is installed, that’s basically it as far as interaction
with the program. You simply make your appointments as you normally
would. When you travel to say, Saskatchewan, you simply select your
region, open up PI Correct Time and tap ‘Update Appointments’. All of
your appointments are adjusted to the correct time, hence the name,
PI Correct Time.

Leave it up to the wizards at WebIS to throw in one of those utilities
that make you wonder, "why didn’t I think of that!" Sure you
can do without a global delete/replace tool, but it’s nice to have.
The documentation gives the following example: "if you have
an area code change for everyone in your area due to an area code split
or your company changed names – you can now make those changes easily
and quickly."
If you’ve purchased anything from WebIS,
HELP
SUPPORT
then you know they are a top-flight developer and have excellent support.
PI Correct Time has a nice manual and WebIS offers support forums, as
well as telephone and email support.
PI Correct Time is 95k installed and is
SYSTEM
REQUIREMENTS
compatible with Windows Mobile 2002/2003.
My data is still intact, no bugs noted.
BUGS
AND WISHES
My only real wish is to have the appointment times change automatically.
For instance, when I change the time on the Pocket PC, have PI Correct
Time automatically make the changes. Instead of having to manually tap
‘Update Appointments’.
PI Correct Time is available exclusively
PURCHASING
at WebIS’ online store here.
The price is $24.95, a little steep if you don’t travel often.
PROS
Complexity
is hidden, protects data from being inadvertently
damaged
Unobtrusive design
Pocket Outlook tools are a
nice bonus
CONS
Target audience probably small
Steep price
Appointments don’t update automatically
My overall impression of PI Correct Time was positive.
OVERALL
IMPRESSION
Although I don’t travel often enough to find it very useful, the Pocket
Outlook tools could be of use to some. On the positive side, PI Correct
Time is small, unobtrusive and pulls off its primary function very well.
WebIS should be commended for engineering innovative solutions such
as PI Correct Time for the Pocket PC.
