The Omnia Comes to Verizon
Verizon Samsung Omnia i910 with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
INTRODUCTION
We all know that Windows Mobile is the most mature and full featured Smartphone operating system, however that maturity has also meant that it is missing some of the newer user interface (UI) paradigms such as multi touch and enhanced mobile browsers like Safari. Microsoft has currently left the implementation of such new technologies to its hardware partners such as Samsung, who has brought a widget-based interface to the Omnia on Verizon. Let's see how well Verizon and Samsung have addressed the competitive landscape!
WHAT'S HOT
The Verizon Samsung Omnia i910 is the CDMA/EVDO cousin of the Samsung Omnia i900 GSM smartphone. pocketnow.com reviewed the Omnia i900 back in August. The Omnia i910 runs with a Marvell CPU running at 624MHZ, plus 128MB of RAM, 256MB of ROM, 8GB of internal storage, EVDO Revision A with tethering, a 5 MP auto focus camera with zoom and flash. The 3.2" screen has WQVGA 400x240 resolution, making for a less than stellar 145 pixels per inch (PPI) pixel density (the Touch Diamond's screen is 285ppi and the Apple iPhone's screen is 164ppi). Sadly, the aGPS functionality can only be used with VZ Navigator. Powering everything is a 1440mAh battery. The full specifications can be found at PDAdb.net.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX
The Verizon Samsung Omnia i910 comes with everything you need to get started, however one omission is a set headphones. I can argue both ways on this subject; it is nice for vendors to include a set of headphones, although many time they are not very good, however headphones choices and fit can be very personal.
The Verizon Samsung Omnia i910 includes the AC 110/240 Volt charger, stylus, headphone adapter cable, multi adapter, USB cable, software CDs, and manuals.
In case you missed it, here is the unboxing video.
THE DEVICE
The Verizon Samsung Omnia i910 is a very sleek and light weight device which feels good in one's hand.
Here is the left side of the device with cover off of the Samsung proprietary connector.
Onto the right side of the device, we see (from left to right) the camera button, the volume toggle bar and at the top the Samsung menu button.
On the back is the 5 Mega Pixel camera with auto focus, flash and speaker.
The antennas in the Verizon Samsung Omnia i910 are at the bottom on the unit, holding the device in the palm of your hand may impact performance. This is very strange, I would have loved to be in those engineering meetings. What were they thinking!
Here is the hardware tour.

From top to bottom, The Verizon Samsung Omnia i910, the Verizon Samsung i760, the AT&T Tilt, and the Apple iPhone 3G. The Verizon Samsung Omnia i910 is .2 mm thicker than the iPhone, however it is 10 grams lighter.
