INTRODUCTION
Sometimes while you’re browsing through your photo albums on your Windows Mobile device you may feel like editing some of the images. Sadly, the standard Pictures & Videos tool, which comes with Windows Mobile, does not offer you this possibility. Introducing Resco Photo Viewer, the image viewing application which can make image editing and photo album sorting easy and enjoyable. Is it a must-have addition to your device? Once we’ve installed the program and when we run it for the first time, we are offered the possibility to set Resco Photo Viewer as our default viewer for our images in a wealth of formats.
The image browser is where most of the work is done. Here you can browse through your pictures in four different ways (small, medium or large thumbnails and detailed view), depending on your choice. Another neat feature is that you can mark a folder as a favorite, so whenever you start the program up again, you can quickly have access to that album by selecting it from the favorites tab.
Resco Photo Viewer allows you to view and customize your PowerPoint presentations if they are converted to Resco Albums. This can be done using the Desktop Album Generator tool, which can be selected for installation only by installing the software from your PC using Active Sync.
Slide Shows are highly customizable. You can modify the play direction, the delay time between the pictures or the transition effect between them and you can preview how that actually looks like on a small animation to the right of the this option. You can assign and play a background melody during the slide show or play voice notes which you have attached to the pictures.
The real value of Resco Photo Viewer and its features can be seen once you select an image, as the software offers plenty of editing options. You can rotate your picture left or right, add text notes or even record audio notes to your picture.
In Zoom Mode, you can easily zoon in or out with the help of a slider.
In Draw Mode, you have acces to basic drawing tools: adding pen lines, squares, circles and text.
You can also change the Pen color and Fill color and modify the Pen width.
Edit Mode allows you to resize or crop your image and to modify RGB Channels or Contrast/Gamma values, which is great if your picture is too dark/ too bright.
Pictures can be easily saved to Contacts or set as background image for your Today Screen. You can also transfer your images through IrDA, Bluetooth, E-mail or MMS. Resco Image Viewer also offers you the possibility to upload and share your pictures through FlickR.
