    The holster is very similar to the MDA variant which I reviewed last August. The unit differs in the following areas: designed for the HTC S620, so is noticeably smaller. Exterior polycarbonate is rubberized, in keeping with the look and feel of the Dash. Top latch also includes a unique ‘cantilever’ feature that allows the latch to push the device away from the holster when lifted. Quite innovative and very useful.

The latch can be seen above. The cantilever is the thin strip of plastic recessed into the back of the holster.

THE DRAWING BOARD

   The holster is well made and very capable. It is, however, not the cheapest holstering solution available. I do firmly believe that the extra money is worth the added security. Some folks may wish to use the holster with their phone facing out. This is not possible with the Seidio. Lastly, the top spring is pretty soft, allowing the latch to lift easily. While I am sure this is by design, it might also mean that the spring could one day fail. I don’t expect this to occur any day soon though, and I am sure the good folk at Seidio would come to the rescue.

OVERALL IMPRESSION

    My overall opinion? This is the absolute, hands-down, best holster solution I have seen for the S620. I have tried the outward facing variant, available at a cheaper price, but never felt overly confident; plus the screen, keyboard, etc was completely exposed. I like what Seidio have done with this product. It’s strong, fits perfectly, and made with quality components. If you are a serious holster user, I would highly recommend it.
