The iPhone can be considered one of if not
INTRODUCTION
the most stylish phones to ever be released to consumers. Wouldn’t it
be nice if there were an equally stylish way to showcase it? Well, the
Just Mobile Xtand has definitely tried to do that. Have they achieved
it? Find out.
The Xtand is a simple yet sophisticated

and beautiful way for you to display and "dock" your iPhone.

The Xtand comes shipped in a box roughly
the size of the iPhone box. Nothing too fancy but not too shabby. Quite
frankly there isn’t too much to this "stand". There are no
ports or AC connections. It’s just a "holder" for your iPhone.
Albeit a very nice one.
I opened the box and on top was the X holder
portion of the stand. Not sure how else to explain that. Beneath that
was the arm or stand. I looked but couldn’t find any documentation or
instructions. Not that any are needed as it’s quite simple to assemble.
It’s all made of solid aluminum except for any rubber parts.
The X holder portion of the stand
screws into the arm portion of the stand with a large textured screw
and also includes two rubber washers to fit in between. The texture
of the screw adds a bit of style to the stand and the rubber washers
definitely are needed to keep the holder portion from grinding against
the arm when swiveling.
Beneath the stand are two rubber grips to help keep it stable. I found
these rubber grips to work well but sometimes when interacting and pressing
the screen on the iPhone the stand would slide. Maybe if the stand were
heavier or if there were suction cups, that would help
keep it more stable when touching the screen. Because in my opinion
that’s one of the best things about this stand. The ability to interact
and touch the screen of the iPhone without it flopping around like other
docks.
Most of the time as long as the grips on the bottom are on a
clean hard surface it doesn’t move. But if you try clicking the home
button on your iPhone it will most definitely move or slide.
It’s lighter
in weight than I thought it would be. The four rubber corners that hold
the iPhone in place are grippy rubber and not the soft touch or hard
rubber so the iPhone stays in nice and tight. But not too tight, just
right. The rubber pieces can be easily pulled off if you intentionally
did so but I didn’t have any problem with them coming off when I pulled
out my iPhone. The four rubber grips are slipped on top of a continuing
piece of aluminum that is curved at the end so the whole piece is seamless.
There is definitely some quality here.
It’s a very simple yet sleek looking accessory.
You can display your iPhone in portrait mode.
You can in fact swivel your iPhone 360 degrees
and it is level enough for the OS to rotate, but as you do so it will
either loosen or tighten the screw depending on which way you twist
it. But if you tighten the screw to a good point then only swivel it
90 degrees either way you shouldn’t have a problem. You can also adjust
the angle of the stand to a lower or higher height by loosening the
screw then raising or lowering your iPhone.
The rubber grips hold the iPhone very securely.
Here’s another shot of the screw that holds the holder. There is
also a circular hole in the back of the arm part of the stand to allow
you to slip through the charging cable so your iPhone can charge and/or
sync while in the stand. Another thing to note is all the buttons on
the iPhone are accessible when the iPhone is in the stand. Although
half of the camera lens is covered.
The grips can slide off but it never was a problem. You can also see
the holder is one piece.
Here’s the back of the iPhone and you can see the camera is covered.
All of the buttons and jacks are available on the top.
The left side of the iPhone.
The bottom of the iPhone. The speaker is not covered and I didn’t notice
any noise reduction.
Here you can see the space between the iPhone and the stand. The iPhone
never touches the stand so it won’t get scratched.
This is a very stylish stand.
Interacting with your iPhone is more enjoyable when it’s in the stand
as long as it doesn’t move.
Great site!
Watching videos in landscape in the stand kind of turns the iPhone into
a "TV".
Also navigating in landscape is more enjoyable as well.

I did not see any documentation or instructions
HELP SUPPORT
included in the box. The Xtand itself is quite simplistic though and
I didn’t run into any issues at all putting it together.
BUGS AND WISHES
have an issue with the stability of the stand when touching the screen
and buttons of the iPhone. The design of the Xtand lends itself to easy
access to your iPhone but the stand will sometimes slide around when
I’m trying to touch the screen and/or home button. I’m not quite sure
how they could solve this without adding weight or suction cups. You
could glue it down I guess…
Another issue that may be bothersome is that the camera lens is covered when you use this stand.
PURCHASING
Xtand can be purchased from Expansys.
The price is $50.95. A bit pricey for a phone stand.
PROS
Sophisticated look to go along
with the iPhone
Quality construction
Easy to assemble
CONS
Slides around when trying
to touch the screen- Camera gets covered
- A bit pricey

There are other iPhone docks out there
OVERALL IMPRESSION
that offer more for the same price but they do not compare in style
or quality in my opinion. The Xtand makes no claims of offering any
technological advantage over other docks. It does however offer a better
looking option. If you looking for a unique "cool" way to
showcase or store your iPhone, this is definitely a great option.
