HTC's New Flagship Business Device (3/4)

HTC Touch Pro with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional

Here we are in the Settings menu. If you want to annoy your friends with a keyboard sliding sound, you can do that here. =D

If we check for the items on the Today screen, all we see is TouchFLO 3D. Of course you can disable TF3D if you rather have the more simple default Today screen.

Here we are in the System tab.

There is an ample amount of program memory available here.

The four buttons on the bottom of the device are not very customizable, but you can dictate what a long press of the End key does. Go into "Buttons" in the Personal Settings tab to change the long press setting for Call Start.

There are some other settings here like TouchFLO and TV-Out (no cable included to test).

These are the settings for TouchFLO. From here you can cut down on the annoying and/or helpful aspects of TouchFLO.

I'm still amazed that no TV-Out cable isn't included. i-mate got it right with the Ultimate 9502.

Why does the accelerometer need to be calibrated, I ask? On the Samsung Omnia and iPhone this isn't needed.

And finally, here we are in the Connections tab.

You can specify what happens when you plug the Touch Pro into your computer.

*Applause and cheers.* The Touch Pro has carrier settings for almost every GSM carrier in the world and will automatically configure itself when you insert your SIM card. Awesome!

Take a look at this video that shows illustrates some features that I've written so far in this review.

CAMERA

The camera application is the best I've ever seen. It features a simple hierarchical menu system that is very touch-friendly.

The camera app includes a lot of advanced settings...

...such as metering mode, etc.

Here is a macro image using the flash. The colors are a little bland, and the clarity isn't great.

Here's a close up of yellow flows. The contrast isn't strong enough to be able to see the variation of color on the flower petals.

And finally, here's a panorama shot with the Touch Pro using the stitching mode. I thought it came out pretty good, with even lighting and good contrast.

Click on to the next page as we wrap up the review with a note on performance, battery life, and talk about all the Cons of the device.
