I guess this is as close as we’ll get the old Jedi Knight mind control trick working for us in this 21st Century. According to,.. and yeah,.. I’ll tag this as “according to PLX”, because I’ll believe this until I get my hands on one,.. they’ve designed a new headset called the XWave that connects to your iPhone and lets you control your device and its apps with your mind.
Quoting their post: “XWave, powered by NeuroSky eSense patented technologies, senses the faintest electrical impulses transmitted through your skull to the surface of your forehead and converts these analog signals into digital. With XWave, you will be able to detect attention and meditation levels, as well as train your mind to control things. Objects in a game can be controlled, lights in your living room can change color depending on your mood; the possibilities are limited to only the power of your imagination.”
At this specific moment, if I would wear this thing it would detect that my mood is of total disbelief with a tad of “Yeah Right”, and my imagination see’s this as the next big rip-off of the year, but given they won’t release it until November 1st here, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. This next promotional and fact-free video rings no bells on features, but if you’re still interested in the product, have a look.
So hey, if this thing does work in the end, I do hope they figure out a smaller design,.. you know,.. so you don’t look like you’ve still got stuff from the ’80s. Another cool thing would be to offer this thing in black, but what we’d urge for the most is for them to start working on the mind-to-mind control headset specially designed for nosy girlfriends.. =D..
