The unicorn that is the iPhone 5 might be shipping this year in a thinner and lighter model, if the Wall Street Journal is to be believed. According to the WSJ, the iPhone 5 will have a “radical new case design” that will house an upgraded 8MP camera, plus Qualcomm radios. This conflicts with earlier rumors of the next iPhone being similar in design to the current iPhone 4. Ever since the 2010 leak of the iPhone 4, Apple has been especially careful about new hardware leaks, which explains why rumors of the next iPhone have been very inconsistent.
