It’s HEEE-ere! After all the waiting, all the rumors, and all the blind speculation, Apple’s iPhone 4 in white is finally showing up in the hands of smartphone retailers: very real, very tangible, and all ready to go up for sale.
Engadget tells the tale of a lucky reader who managed to sweet-talk his way into white iPhone 4 ownership. Though sales haven’t officially started yet, he was able to convince a Vodafone employee to put the sale through as a black iPhone 4. Apparently this didn’t go unnoticed, with the company distributing a memo shortly thereafter prohibiting that kind of shenanigan, so don’t expect to try the same manipulation with any kind of success.
In about a week you’ll have your own chance to snag one of the ivory-clad beauties. We’re not quite sure exactly when sales will start proper, but dates like the 26th, 27th, 28th, and 29th have all been fielded; certainly before May, in any case.
Apple will round out April making plenty of iPhone fans happy, and the rest of you will have to find some new story to grow annoyed hearing about over, and over and over. There’s always iPhone 5 rumors…
