After hearing rumors of a special 8:00 a.m. opening time for Apple Stores tomorrow morning in order to introduce the iPad 2012, yesterday Apple confirmed the news. However, if the thought of going to sleep tonight without a new iPad or having to wake up at the crack of dawn to get a decent spot in line – sounds like a situation you’d prefer to avoid, you just might have a shot at grabbing one tonight, with Walmart announcing midnight iPad sales.
Normal Walmart stores won’t be staying open late just for iPad sales, but if you’ve got one near you that’s open 24 hours a day anyway, you might be able to swing-by tonight and grab one of Apple’s new tablets. Walmart says it will only have a limited supply of the devices on-hand at each location, so there could still be some competition to get your hands on one; you might want to check with your local store to see how it plans on dealing with early-arrivers mingling around as they wait for the clock to strike midnight.
Are any readers planning a late-night Walmart trip, or even an early-morning campout in the hopes of scoring one of the first 2012 iPads?
