According to Verizon’s Chief Financial Officer, Fran Shammo, who talked at a Citigroup conference in San Francisco on Wednesday, the carrier managed to more than double its iPhone sales for the last quarter of 2011, compared to the one before it.
The launch of the iPhone 4S had definitely a very important role in helping Verizon sell 4.2 million Apple-phones in the fourth quarter last year. Competing directly with AT&T — which, according to estimates, sold more than 5.5 million units during Q4 2011 — Verizon is closing down the gap but until official numbers are made public, we are left with Verizon’s 4.2 million iPhones sold.
