With the next iPhone due in a matter of months, it’s only understandable that the parties involved in iPhone sales would be interested in moving as many iPhone 4s as possible before then. A leaked screenshot of what purports to be an upcoming sale event at Verizon hints at the sort of deals we could hope to see in the final days of the iPhone 4′s reign, offering some rare savings on the Apple smartphone.
If these prices end up being accurate, Verizon would sell the 16GB iPhone 4 for just over $150 on-contract, a savings of nearly $50 off its current price. Considering the notoriously tight controls Apple has over iPhone pricing, discounts that large are an uncommon find. Whether or not now’s a good time to take advantage of such a price, though, is a tough call, especially with uncertainty as to what kind of hardware we’ll find in the next iPhone. At the least, while picking up an iPhone 4 now may not leave you with the latest hardware for long, you can expect Apple to continue supporting the phone with software updates for at least the next year.
The leak also shows some deals on Verizon Androids, though we see those get price cuts so often, they’re hardly worth talking about. One notable value (listed twice, for some reason) is the HTC Thunderbolt going free after contract. Again, with phones like the Bionic coming, this sale looks to be about clearing stock, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get some big savings out of it.
