With the AT&T and T-Mobile merger everyone was wondering whether Apple’s iPhone will make it to T-Mobile. So far the answer from Cupertino was negative but recently Apple released unlocked GSM iPhones. Even before this though, customers of T-Mobile brought Apple smartphones to the carrier.
According to information received from 9to5mac, T-Mobile is carrying more than one million unlocked Apple iPhones on its network. The information comes from a T-Mobile spokesman 9to5mac chatted with before the NYC Pepcom event. Most of these iPhones are models before the current fourth generation smartphone but there are also lots of iPhone 4 devices too. There was nothing to announce at the moment regarding a special T-Mobile variant of the iPhone but with the merger, if happening, it won’t even be necessary.
