Last week a cross-site scripting vulnerability has been discovered inside the iOS client of Skype. The Chat Message window had a scripting vulnerability that allowed an attacker to execute malicious JavaScript code, exposing sensitive personal information. At that time, Skype stated they were working hard to bring a fix and it appears an update has just been added to iTunes.
The new version of Skype for iPhone is 3.5.84, dated today. According to the changelog, there’s a “bugfix for security vulnerability”, hopefully fixing the issue and addressing user concerns. Additionally, the refresh also brings Bluetooth support for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, emoticons are now displayed when entered as text, image stabilization for enhanced video, a new user interface and more. If you don’t get the notification on your phone or iTunes computer client, follow the source link and update right-away!
