Alright, I’m not gonna consider this a victory just yet, but the SkyFire team has just announced they’ve successfully submitted their iOS app for approval on Apple’s App Store. Why’s this important? Well, SkyFire has a special server-based way of providing Adobe Flash content to mobile devices, and given Opera Mini did get approved recently offering a similar service, there might just be a chance we’ll stop seeing little blue boxes with a question mark very soon… as long as you choose to leave Safari to the past and and switch to SkyFire browsing.

There are possibilities that Apple simply sends them back home with a thank you and good bye, since they don’t allow Flash based code to be part of iOS app development, but considering this whole thing provides flash through a server, I know the SkyFire team didn’t just submit this without knowing they’ve done all the hard work necessary to get their browser approved. According to the team, they followed all of Apple’s feedback and complied with all the necessary requirements to get a smiley face stamped on the app.

So yes,.. This is an alternative solution to get Flash without the battery drainage Apple complains about… So hey, why didn’t you think of that Cupertino Gang? We’ll keep you posted on what happens..
