Skyfire, the popular “alternate” multi-platform internet browser, has been updated to version 3.0 for Google’s Android powered smartphones at the end of November last year and recently the same version number is available for iPhone users too.
One of the major changes in this version is that the new Skyfire browser supports more Flash video from more sites, continuing to optimize it for your mobile and network offering a smooth playback and experience. On the social network side, Skyfire got even more Facebook friendly putting the Like button on every webpage you are going to display allowing you to easily share content. There’s also Facebook Portal Integration that offers quick access to feed, profile and places.
Another new feature is Popular Content, still in the Facebook chapter, which shows you what specific content is most popular among your friends and Facebook in general, on any website. Additionally, there’s Skyfire OneTouch Search that returns search results from Google, VideoSurf or Wikipedia without the need to access the sites separately.
The app weighs 3.7 MB, costs $2.99 and is compatible with iPhones running iOS 3.0 or later.
