Update: Well what do you know. I guess the app became so popular, the developer decided to charge $1.99 only a few hours after he initially offered it for free. This is just a friendly update to let you know it’s not freeware any more. Is it worth $2? Well, In my personal opinion, the Metro UI is cool (as long as it lasts, given I do smell a Microsoft lawsuit), but what I really enjoy is being able to organize imagery in folders, password protect etc. It lacks fast app switching, a slideshow option, animated tiles, and an option to get rid of the horrible Magenta color behind photos. So, bottom line, I’d be willing to pay for it once the developer pulls off a version 2 with the updates.
We’ll most likely never see the Windows Phone 7 Metro UI make it to the iPhone, but it’s great to have developers willing to think out of the box. Such is the case for SeeSee which is a free application that lets you manage photos on your iPhone in a much more effective way, and also, with some Metro UI styling.
As it stands, the iOS Photo application doesn’t allow you to create sub-folders or move your images around unless you do it through iTunes on your computer. SeeSee doesn’t only bring the Metro UI Style to your iOS device, but it also lets you organize photos within folders, which resemble the tile interface we’ve all seen in the Metro UI. Within each folder, you may pivot around to filter Photos, Videos, Everything and even password protect the album, or share images through Wi-Fi.

Kind of a great photo solution for such a free price tag if you ask me. Now if only the developer could do us a hand and make these tiles live.. Here’s the iTunes link.
