In addition to the fitness accessories that make use of the iPhone’s dock connector for third-party hardware, Sanofi-Aventis is looking to bring a blood glucose monitor that will also plug into the dock connector. Called the iBGStar, the device will use Dynamic Electrochemistry technology to analyze blood chemistry to provide accurate readings and can be used on its own or in conjunction with the iOS app. The app will allow users to monitor, track, and report their data with notes and users can also send their data to their healthcare provider(s).
The device is still waiting on FDA clearance and should retail for around $80 in the U.S.
