Apple’s Senior Vice President of Industrial Design, Sir Jonathan Ive, is responsible for some great designs over the years with the company, including the iPhone.

He received the Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire title in the 2012 New Year Honours list for his services to design. Ive declared he was “both humbled and sincerely grateful” and, while Mr. Ive can now call himself Sir Ive, he said the honor is “absolutely thrilling” and that he is “keenly aware that I benefit from a wonderful tradition in the UK of designing and making”.
