With Apple’s recent approval of Google Voice native apps GV Connect and GV Mobile+, the word all around is that Apple has also pre-approved Google’s official app for their voice services. We’ll tag this as a rumor for now since we’ve never seen Apple give any app an early approval and specially when the report mentions that the app is still weeks away from making it to our devices because it isn’t enhanced for Retina Display support.
As expected from Google, the app will most likely be free, which is good news for us but bad news for those developers who have invested in creating their paid versions of the service. We sadly don’t have details on features or a specific date on availability, but let’s just hope it comes sooner than Apple can change their minds about it.
