When Apple introduced the new iPhone 4S, they said that the device is old on the outside (maintaining the iPhone 4′s design) but all new on the inside. This might be true but the two devices are not identical which could raise some problems with a couple of accessories like cases.
The image above shows an iPhone 4S on top of last year’s iPhone 4 and, as you can see, there is quite a difference. Due to Apple’s changing the antenna design on the iPhone 4S (for better reception and of course for the world-phone capability) the mute-switch as well as the volume rockers have been slightly placed lower. What does this mean? First of all that the two phones are not identical and second, there will be occasional problems with some cases that won’t perfectly fit the iPhone 4S.
