Jefferies & Co. analyst Peter Misek already mentioned that we could see Apple’s next iPhone on T-Mobile and Spring too, besides AT&T and Verizon and next up is Piper Jaffray analyst Chris Larsen who thinks alike.
According to Larsen, “the most noteworthy change could be the device’s ability to run on more networks, specifically Sprint and T-Mobile in the U.S.”. It would be imperative for Apple to consider spreading its product on as many networks as possible and getting T-Mobile plus Sprint on-board for the next iPhone could increase Apple’s addressable market by 30 percent, according to Larsen.
Let’s not forget about Verizon’s CFO Fran Shammo, who hinted that the next generation iPhone to come would feature a global radio allowing operation on several network types. While the aspect itself and specs are still subject to rumors, it appears that many agree on the fact that the next smartphone to come out of Cupertino will see a multi-carrier launch. What do you think?
