After the recent Galaxy S III rumors it’s time to please the Apple fans with some reports concerning the upcoming iPhone 4S refresh (or the next iPhone, really). In short, it is possible that we’ll have to wait until the third quarter of the year to see what the Cupertino-company can bring to the market, despite earlier reports of a June iPhone event.
Those who prefer a larger (but not a huge) screen will probably be happy to find out that there will reportedly be a larger, four-inch screen on the iPhone 5 (or whatever the name will be). Not too big, not too small, definitely a good size to upgrade to from the current 3.5-inch screen. As far as the outer aspect is concerned, the next iPhone will allegedly have a new, sleek, unibody case.
Regarding screen resolution, the iPhone 4 and 4S pack that so-called “Retina Display” which bumps the pixel density to 329.65 PPI on a 3.5-inch screen with 640×960 resolution. A four inch screen, with regards to which Apple will most definitely want to keep its Retina marketing, will need to have a higher resolution (somewhere around 768×1024?).
Other rumors, concerning specs this time, seem to follow basic logic and the relationship between the iPad and the iPhone. It is possible that we’ll see the same A5X chip inside the new Apple phone and 1GB of RAM, a la New iPad. 4G LTE is also rumored (which will beg for a larger battery). Would such an iPhone appeal to you?
