This is the moment many of us mortals have been waiting for. Surely Jailbreaking an iPhone is nothing out of the ordinary, but not many people are into having to follow the hassle of connecting their devices to a computer, placing it in DFU mode, following the on-screen instructions and crossing their fingers. Back in the day, JailbreakMe.com came to revolutionize the way you could free your device because all you had to do was navigate to the website on your mobile browser, slide your finger on the screen and that was it. If you’ve been holding back on all the fun just because it was complicated, call this your lucky day. COMEX has just released an update to his Wireless Jailbreak solution, now called JailbreakMe 3.0.
Just like in the previous version, all you have to do is open your device’s Mobile Safari browser, navigate to the site http://jailbreakme.com, and just like if you were on the App Store, hit the “Free” button as if you were purchasing an App, and let the website do the rest. Give the device a couple of minutes to breath the fresh air, and it’s free. Currently this method for Jailbreaking is only supported by the following devices and versions of iOS:
- iPad1: 4.3 through 4.3.3
- iPad2: 4.3.3
- iPhone3GS: 4.3 through 4.3.3
- iPhone4: 4.3 through 4.3.3
- iPhone4-CDMA (Verizon): 4.2.6 through 4.2.8
- iPod touch 3g: 4.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.3
- iPod touch 4g: 4.3 through 4.3.3
Word of Warning to those currently relying on an Ultrasn0w carrier unlock. This method of Jailbreaking will update your baseband and lock your device again, so stay away from it and stick to the PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze.
