According to recent reports, Sprint has begun briefing its sales associates related to Apple’s iPhone, preparing for an October launch. The phone will be available with standard Sprint data plans and the carrier will also include a $10 per month data smartphone premium that is not specific to iPhone.
The associate coming forward seemed convinced that Sprint will not get its iPhone 5 until 2012, spring or so. The phone associates were briefed on was the iPhone 4. There might be at least a couple of theories here: 1. as Verizon was briefing on the iPhone 3GS prior to the iPhone 4, this might be the case with Sprint too. 2. briefing on the iPhone 4 protects information related to the iPhone 5 and its operating system.
Also, on the other side of the story, as many rumors point it out, the next iPhone will look very similar to the iPhone 4. Additionally, there are also rumors of not one but two phones coming out of Cupertino soon, one of which could be the iPhone 4S. Regardless of which model Sprint will get, at the end of the day, what does matter is that the carrier is finally entering the game (though it would be nice to grab the latest phone instead of playing catch-up).
