Ever since Apple introduced iCloud back in June you are able to see a list on your device of all your downloaded and/or purchased Music, TV Shows, Apps and Books in the Updates tab of your App Store or Purchased tab of your iTunes. This is all thanks to iTunes in the Cloud.
The principle is very easy: everything purchased get into the list for easy re-downloading. How about when your list becomes cluttered with all the apps you once downloaded, tried and no longer use? And when you don’t want other people having access to your device to see your purchase history? Or maybe you just want to filter out the list according to whatever preference of yours? We’ll show you how!
This is valid for Music, TV Shows, Apps and Books. Fire up your iTunes application on your computer and go to the iTunes Store on the left. On the Store home page click the Purchased (New) link on the right side of the page and you’ll be presented with the screen shown below.

Choosing either one of the tabs at the top (Music, TV Shows, Apps or Books) will take you to the list of all your purchases from that particular category. Say you want to hide an app you downloaded some time ago and you no longer use it. Just click the X on the top left side of the app icon. You’ll be asked whether you want to hide that particular purchase, like shown below:

Of course, your main goal is to clean up the list, in which case you’ll click “Hide”. From there on, that certain app will no longer appear on your iTunes or iOS devices’ purchased list. Follow the same procedure to hide that annoying Book, TV Show and so on.
How about if you want to restore something to the list? That’s easy too! Start iTunes on your computer, go to iTunes Store in the left and click and click on the Account link on the right. In the iTunes in the Cloud section you’ll see how many items you have hidden and of course you’ll be able to restore them to the list. Now go clean up your lists!
