You might have heard of, or even used, the ability in iOS to place system setting shortcuts on your home screen. This allowed for quick, one-touch access to common Settings like WiFi and Bluetooth. We say “allowed” because iOS 5.1 Beta seems to remove this ability and chances are the public version will too.
Settings were available with the help of a special URL-type address, accessed via Safari and then saved as a favorite with an individual icon on your home screen. Not anymore with iOS 5 Beta but we hope the ability will be re-enabled in the public release — though we might hear Apple’s “concern” for security as an explanation to disabling the feature.
