Apple just recently pushed out its new iOS version 5.0.1 update a couple of hours ago and its main purpose, among other minor tweaks, fixes and improvements, was to get rid of the problems that the iPhone 4S experienced in terms of battery life.
According to recent reports the new version of Apple’s mobile platform did not fix the battery issues in some cases while other users report the exact opposite, with improved battery life. The iPhone 4S, in some cases, has been plagued with reduced battery life problems which might be due to multiple reasons.
First of all, it is just normal to have slightly reduced battery life on a phone that has a dual core processor. In addition, it’s been proven that the new iPhone uses an additional IR sensor that is always on when the screen is lit (might want to turn off “raise to speak” Siri setting). Plus, there were reports that tied the problems to location services (might be useful to try and turn off location setting for automatic time zone).
