Apple recently released iOS 4.3.4 in order to fix the PDF security vulnerability which enabled JailbreakMe.com to work and the platform refresh has received its tethered jailbreak in just a matter of hours. The situation appears to be a bit more complicated when it comes to untethered jailbreak, according to popular developer i0n1c.
Also known as Stefan Esser, i0n1c has tweeted that an untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.3.4 will not come anytime soon. This is mainly because Apple also reportedly patched the flaw exploited by Redsn0w in order to achieve untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.x. “In a way it is nice to see that Apple instead of merely fixing vulns add more mitigation checks. But for jailbreakers this suxx”, says i0n1c and we agree. You can still settle for the tethered jailbreak or you can just refrain from updating to iOS 4.3.4; iOS 5 comes out soon.
