Quickly yanked after a short appearance in the Japanese iTunes last week, Google’s Latitude app for iOS is now officially up on iTunes and we hope it’s there to stay.
As of today, the application is available for free with the version number 2.0.0.346 and it will work on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 devices running iOS 4.0 and later. Google Latitude supports 27 languages and users will be able to see all the friends they’ve added on the map as well as share their own current location continuously with their buddies. Location sharing is done in the background so your position will be updated even if you are caught up doing something else, close the app or your device screen is locked.
