If you grew up playing Super Nintendo, then you’ve probably spent more than a few hours playing the NBA Jam series. EA revived the classic arcade basketball franchise late last year by launching a new game for consoles (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii) with the intention of staying true to the original, but with updated graphics and rosters, of course. Naturally, the title generated tons of hype and gamers soon found themselves reliving past memories of flaming hoops, high-flying dunks, and shattered backboards. Well, now you can take that action with you on-the-go, as EA just released NBA Jam for the iPhone.
The mobile version, complete with all 30 NBA teams, is remarkably similar to its home console counterpart. It includes both quick play and campaign modes, as well as the ability to unlock legendary NBA stars and secret characters. Tim Kitzrow, the announcer from the original, is also featured in the game. If you like what you see in the short teaser below, visit the App Store and grab NBA Jam for a reasonable $4.99. Early reviews indicate fantastic touch controls and gameplay.
