Well after Apple’s recently vague announcement of iOS 5.1, it’s now available for your downloading pleasure. For a moment there, we thought that the only enhancement we’d get was Siri translating its own name in Japanese (which we don’t recommend you Google for), but Apple has proved us wrong. iOS 5.1 includes some key fixes that many of us were waiting for with open arms.
Out of the key changes:
- The battery performance fixes for the iPhone 4S are probably the most anticipated
- We can now delete photos all of those hidden photos you don’t wish to share with the rest of your family through Photo Stream.
- The Camera shortcut is now always available on the Lock Screen. You no longer need to hit the home button twice to trigger it
- Genius Mixes now work with iTunes Match
One weird change is that there’s an updated AT&T network indicator. Have they won the battle and convinced Apple to call it 4G? We’re currently upgrading all of our devices and will update this post as soon as we get the goods.
