Jailbreaking has a lot more pros than cons, but one of the really horrible cons lots of people had to deal with, was upgrading to a new OS and loosing all their Jailbreak-available-only apps. Add the sluggishness at which Cydia loads searches for those packages, and you can spend a full day trying to get back to where you were. Lucky for us, Saurik just found an ingenious way to solve the problem. Cydia’s new feature allows you to log on with a Google or Facebook account, and it will save your application data base.
Things are still not perfect though. Once you log on to Cydia with your fresh new version of iOS after a Jailbreak, you can hit Manage and will get a history of all the apps you’ve downloaded or purchased from Cydia for a fresh new install. So yeah, you won’t have to search for the app again, but whatever you did within the app, or whatever settings you had on the previous iOS will most likely be lost. But hey, so far, so good.
