Apple released the first update to iOS 5.0 yesterday, including what was supposed to be a fix for the battery life issues some users had noted. Overnight, many of you got the chance to install iOS 5.0.1, and reports of users experiences began to flood online forums. One thing that was clear was that the expected battery life improvements weren’t being seen by all users. Apple has since acknowledged that there are “a few remaining issues” regarding the fix, and will hopefully be able to correct things for iPhone owners still being affected. What about other issues, though? This battery concern may be at the focus of the 5.0.1 release, but we’re also hearing about some new problems that users have noticed; do any of these sound familiar?
There’s one we’ve heard of that makes it so you can’t see the name of who’s calling you or sending you a text. Other users have reported problems with wireless connectivity, including both WiFi signal problems and issues maintaining a steady connection to cellular towers. Then there are the users who have had their microphones stop working altogether; this sounds unique from the echo bug we already talked about.
Have you noticed any other new bugs creeping their way into your phone through this latest update?
