We don’t even know for sure about the next Apple smartphone, whether it will be the iPhone 4S or the iPhone 5 and we already skip the iPhone 5S (if there’s ever going to be such a model) and we already hear rumors about the iPhone 6 to come in 2012.

Apple has been one of the largest customers of Samsung and its processors inside the iPhone were made in Korea. It should not come as a surprise that, after the whole lawsuit drama between the two companies, the future collaboration is at risk. According to Dan Heyler, a semiconductor analyst with Merrill Lynch in Taipei, quoted by the Chinese-language Commercial Times, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) has a great chance of “winning orders for Apple’s A6 processors”.

Samsung will reportedly continue to deliver Apple’s A5 chips and thus TSMC will not get any orders in 2011 but, if the rumors turn out to be true, the A6 chip to be used in the next iPhone after the unannounced iPhone to come will not be made by Samsung anymore.
